Sadly many times NR software remove both noise and details, even when they are used by persons who have carefully read the operation instructions.
Best results occur when the color and brightness of the part of the image which has to be cleaned is different from the one of the main subject.

In any case it is important to use NR plugins to have more control on the part of the image to PP and eventually UNDO or soften the entity of the NR effect in the parts of the image which were meant not to be processed, which are the main subject and have become unwillingly "watercolored".
This can be done both to the full 5MP image and to the resized one.

Beware not to apply NR in batch mode and to the original image: you risk to spoil your pics which will never give good Middle size prints anymore.

True. Noise removal also smudges details. You have to be very careful where you are using it.
