i'm attaching this pic of a tour helicopter (lower left corner) to give a sense of scale, so you can see how big the mountain still is, and how large the lava dome in the crater has grown. the helo was flying across in front of the crater, not inside it!

It looks like the top has been blown off that mountain!

the top WAS blown off! St. Helens was about 3,000 feet higher before the eruption... the mountain lost a third of its height. it used to be almost a perfect cone...

PP = post processing. Anything from a little adjustment to the image to a LOT. Most use either Adobe PhotoShop CS or Paint Shop Pro, or similar program.

Thanks for the Excellent photos...I have taken heaps of photos in my garden with the 14b but seeing its power in the big,wide world is staggering...that"s it...out in the car tomorrow!!!!.That mountain blowing up only seems like yesterday...they say " The older you get etc!!"Thankyou again...you"ve stirred me up!![img]/forums/images/emoticons/speechless-smiley-021.gif[/img]
