Just leveled some dirt and planted some bermuda grass. Put sprinklers on, and these were my first visitors.

Good capture Jerry. I'm he didn't like you being that close! Jim

I don't care how big a zoom you were using in my opinion you were to close to that THING.

Thanks Jim and Roger. I was trying not to upset him. It was hard to focus on the wasp and not the few blades of grass.

If the two of us had been together when you finished taking the photo you would of notice I was no longer close to you or that THING.

Are they aggressive Jerry

bayourebel Sep 2, 2006 10:31 PM

Roger, I would be more afraid of the bulls, you had photos of recently. But then, it is all in what we are used to.

bayourebel Sep 2, 2006 10:32 PM

Fred, they can be when aroused, but in most cases they will retreat.

Jerry, While in Michigan I also had an opportunity for a wasp S&R, (Shoot and Run), picture. I was able to get in close but when the flash went off so did I ! There was a big nest of them and they were not happy with me! :-) Jim

Nice one, I have had to get rid of quite a few of those mud nests.
