Hi everyone,
First photo post here. I have been reading for a while, soaking up tips and advice while shooting on the side. Lots of great stuff here! Anyway, the photos: the better ones of a trip to the local refuge. No post processing; just cropped and resized: |

aHA! Another like myself in the beginning. Welcome. I like #3. Should I say good timing, or like me, just lucked up.:G In any case, I think it is one very nice photo.

Good composition in all of them.
The first one is a bit overexposed on the swans, but given the fact that they are white and in glaring sunlight, it's extremely tough not to have this happen without totally underexposing the rest of the picture. #3 is definitely a winner. Good first post. Let's see some more! |

Hi Mark,
Love the swans, theylook especially graceful. I often go to a wildlife refuge myself in Chincoteague, full of photo opportunities! Keep posting! Donna |

Thanks for the comments everyone!
As far as exposure and lighting, I'm surprised I didn't get more purple fringing from some of these shots. I thought I would never catch the swan stretching again, but I waited and waited. Patience is a virtue after all! As far as more shots, I'm sure there will be more coming. I can't stop going to the refuge! --Mark |
