Catalex posts such great shots of his well-behaved cat I thought I would post a few of my cat Rusty.
Got out the ladder to go up on the roof and clean out the gutters and what does Rusty do? Climbs up the ladder and sits on the roof with a smug look on his face. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Obviously, your cat is action-oriented! The problem of spot focus and one point metering is that when the composition includes a bright area such as the sky, that area tends to get overexposed. I have fallen into this trap many a time, with one area of the frame almost washed out. Locking the focus/exposure on the sky and then framing the shot would have rendered the sky blue, but you need to be careful because sometimes the subject would get underexposed! In such cases, multi-point metering comes handy.

jj Hopefully this forum has not turned into a place where only perfect images may be posted; if it has it's a sad day.

I agree... sometimes you just have to take what you get/what your camera gives you- or you end up with nothing.

I wonder how smug he would look if you had removed the ladder

Well John I did remove the ladder and once it got bored with walking around on the roof he jumped onto a tree that grows by the house and climbed down. ![]() jj
