I just got the Lumix DMC-FZ47 today and trying to learn how to use it. I followed the directions and attached the lens hood. No matter what I try it won't detach. Can someone help?

The lense hood is a twist fit.
You could try to turn the camera on in one of the shooting modes so the lense extends, grab a hold of the lense barrel with your right and with the camera back facing you and reach to the front of the camera with your left hand and twist the hood to the right or clockwise while holding the lens barrel. sometimes they are really tight when you first put them on. Hope this helps. Mark

It probably will be easier to put on and remove from now on. They seem to be hard to put on or take off the first time and then get easier after that. At least from my experience.
