gneweis, there really is no right or wrong, whatever works for you. I do find the Raynox a bit harder to focus than the LC55, but nevertheless it's not too bad. Make sure you have lot of light (sunny day), that's key. You don't need to set the camera to "conversion lens" mode, you just have to make sure to zoom past the extension adapter so it doesn't look like you are looking down a tunnel. Higher the magnification, the more susceptible you are to camera movement, so you may want to use a tripod. I like P mode, with ISO between 80 to 200 depending on the light condition. Position yourself at whatever distance that allows your camera to focus.
