After my last post (HELP!) on dropping my fz20. I rang around a few places to see if I could get it repaired.(No luck) I bit the bullet and took the back off the camera, took off the board (carefully) and manually wound the lens forward. Putting it back together wondering if I'd done the right thing.:O
Put the battery and card in and turned it on. YES it worked. I have promised to be careful and not stupid in the future. I wouldn't recommend taking the back off yourself unless you are confident and used to working on electronic equipment, as you can still get quite a shock from the components inside even with the battery out.(I work with electronic equipment). Here are some pictures. |

Fine shots.
It seems your FZ's back for good. But you could have made more than that: I think that no one up here would have protested watching at pics of the interior of the FZ20 taken with another Digicam. They would have been a rarity. They d been great. Haven't you thought about that when you were surgically operating your Lumix? PS It is the second post in a few minutes in which I read about resurrected FZ20. These must have 7 lives, like cats. |

Didn't think at the time, I was more worried if I could get it back together and working. Or whether I should start saving again.
Hopefully I won't have to use anymore of its 7 lives! |
