Hi,

yes, tripod was necessary. Shutter 8 second.

I have used the idea of greenbaron:

Frame the shot in P-mode, with exposure compensation set to max; than switch to M, get the settings right, and take the shot.It may not compete with the real gain-up displays, but it sure makes very helpfull difference

I assume you're using a tripod for these shots, so that bit of extra time shouldn't be much of a problem.

Great idea - thank you greenbaron

I would like to send another pic from that magic night. It is from our garden, right in front of our house.

Excellent pictures, fana and marksr116!

Fana, looks like maybe rain changed to snow? Yes? I love those kinds of snowfalls. It sticks to everything and seems like a fairyland.

17 F below here last night so that won't happen for me for a while.

Keep up the good work!!

marksr116 & fana great shots. This is a low light camera!

Looking to do some Christmas light night shots; anyone had any luck without using a tripod? In situation, the tripod won't be possible.

greenbaron Dec 20, 2004 10:11 AM

Not one of the fairy tales, (like those wonderfull shots above) butoh well; a nightshot of mine: http://www.pbase.com/tvpopta/image/37469466
Very nice shots, Fana and Marksr116

In second shot, what is the surface(looking moonlike)? Wet concrete?

marksr116 Dec 20, 2004 4:24 PM

Yes, wet sidewalk from a fog that was just settling. I put the camera on a towel and set it on the sidewalk, and set the timer for two sec.

By the way the sidewalk is also textured.........

NickTrop Dec 20, 2004 4:33 PM

...all excellent. You really can get some nice night shots without a flash and slow shutter speed.

wise Dec 20, 2004 4:50 PM

On second thought the wet sidewalk looks more like flowing water. You guys are great with your FZs.
