yes, tripod was necessary. Shutter 8 second.

I have used the idea of greenbaron:

Frame the shot in P-mode, with exposure compensation set to max; than switch to M, get the settings right, and take the shot.It may not compete with the real gain-up displays, but it sure makes very helpfull difference :cool:

I assume you're using a tripod for these shots, so that bit of extra time shouldn't be much of a problem.

Fana, looks like maybe rain changed to snow? Yes? I love those kinds of snowfalls. It sticks to everything and seems like a fairyland.

Looking to do some Christmas light night shots; anyone had any luck without using a tripod? In situation, the tripod won't be possible.

In second shot, what is the surface(looking moonlike)? Wet concrete?

Yes, wet sidewalk from a fog that was just settling. I put the camera on a towel and set it on the sidewalk, and set the timer for two sec.

By the way the sidewalk is also textured.........

...all excellent. You really can get some nice night shots without a flash and slow shutter speed.

On second thought the wet sidewalk looks more like flowing water. You guys are great with your FZs.
