Hi.
I was wondering, since running a noise reducer like Noise Ninja reduces some of the detail in the photo, how well do images run through Noise Ninja respond to sharpening in something like Photoshop to gain back some of the lost detail? Thanks --K |

bear in mind that any detail (pixels) lost during noise removal cannot be regained. no software can replace pixels that have been lost or edited out. sharpening typically works only by enhancing the contrast between pixels of different colors along the edges of objects in the image. it won't bring back detail that's been lost due to overly aggressive noise reduction. the best approach is to use the least amount of noise reduction that yields the result you want.

I usually sharpen with Photoshop first, then use either Noise Ninja or Neat Image to remove the noise. If you sharpen as a last step, you may be introducing new noise.
