i decided these worked well in B&W... they give me a feeling of sadness, abandonment and the decrepitude of age.

Yes, these are very nice, squirl. To tell you the truth, I stole the idea from you right away and transfered some pictures of car wrecks that I took some time ago into b&w. Works fine for me too. Hope you don't mind :-).
