This looks like a very nice 4 element (assume 10x= +10 diopter) macro lens for $50 at amazon. Being55mm, it looks ideal for the fz1/2/3.
http://store1.yimg.com/I/47stphoto-s...3_15549016.jpg A new fz20 owner has posted some fascinating shots - including some with the Opteka 10x - and some very interesting comments athttp://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=12309960 Look for the moniker galleryg elsewhere at dpreview Panasonic talk. |
Those are some 'mazin macro's Fred. This looks to be quite a macro lens. If I didn't already have one, this be the one to get. Powerful, yet it seems to have a (relatively) wide dof.

Looks like the one to get. It's interesting Amazon has it for $50, but it actually comes from 47th Photo. If you to the 47th site it's listed at $70................strange:?:

This is a huge delta on the price for this piece. The also show that the 10x macro is produced in 52, 55 and 58mm size, and claim it to be the "strongest Macro lens on the market". Also on the site are some 2x and even a 3x telephoto lens. If they are of high quality and the "street" price is that much lower then the msrp these could be a real steal. -Brett If you want to take a look --> http://www.opteka.com/ |
I was pretty excited about the "quality FZ20" gallerygmacro postsat dpreview Panasonic talk until someone pointed out that in his last post the macro shot ...
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=12323605 was taken from ... http://www.mplonsky.com/photo/with a 2003 copyright so not taken with a FZ20 as implied in the above post. However the Opteka macro lense still looks like it has possibilities JB |

I agree Fred. I looked thru galleryg's postings and alot of his stuff is highly suspect in regards to where it came from and what equipment was used. Check this out:arrow:

Yep. Apparently galleryg is a complete fake. Hard to believe anyone would lift someone else's photo and claim it for their own. NOT!!!! And so we return to being just ourselves with our own little collection of authentic (I hope!) photos. I know mine are authentic and I would be very surprised if anyone "stole" one.

Its sad really that this guy has to steal photos. This mplonsky guy is an amazing photographer and has taken some of the most amazing macros I have ever seen. For the cost of his kit though he could have bought a nice car! Saying that he still has an amazing talent. He has been posting some of his stuff at a macro forum that Danny (NZmacro) runs, I have also been posting stuff there but his work makes mine look like a child's finger painting!
