c***-a-hoop is the term that comes to mind. Nice get.

Edit: now isn't that intersting what the site software did to my initial message.

Nice shot!

Rafe, I suppose you'd have to say Cockerel-a-hoop — the site's mechanical censor never learned anything about syntax.

A fine specimen with great colors. Looks like he's lookin' for a hen or two :-)

To all of you, while not quite familiar with your terms for the barnyard rooster, I do appreciate the great comments. I was at another's barn and this rooster came strutting by. And I couldn't resist as the camera was on the seat of the truck. So, please let me say thanks to all of you for the nice comments and critique.

c.o.c.k-a-hoop is a term for proud and boastful, The rooster is strutting his stuff, he rules the roost. Unfortunately c.o.c.k can also be used as a slang term for the penis (p.e.n.i.s in case the censor gets it) as well and the automated software on the site obviously picks that up.

Rafael, thanks for the explanation of your term. I am familiar with the other slang term, but wasn't sure of the "c.o.c.k.-a-hoop" term.
