Went to the New Zealand v8 nationals and paid $25 to get in. Day ust kicked off with first round of doorslammer eliminations and only these 2 got a run in before it started raining.
We even had a 6000hp+ funny car to run but obviously bcse of the weather tht was no go as well. Would have been the first time i have seen a funny car run. :? The black one ran a 6.7 i think and it was getting a bit loose towards the end. ha you can see everyone except a few nutter blocking their ears. These things are so loud. BUT apparently no where near as loud as the funny car ken |

Ken, thats a drag! (Sorry - could not help myself) but hey, thats a nice shot. I am sure you will get more chances to capture the beasts of horsepower! The FZ30 does well at motorsport events. The track pros seem to all have monopods and while the FZ does not weigh anything like pro gear I can see how a monopod would help. Must invest in one. cheers, Max BTW, A few of my first efforts are at http://lbcmotorsport.googlepages.com/racingimagegallery |

Goodshot. Just wait 'til you get near that TF funny car. There isn't anything in the world that sounds or feels likea TF car leaving the line. The alky cars and the pro-mods come close but you'll see what I mean. Again, nice shot.

Hands over ears of many of the spectators speaks volumes (every pun intended) of the decibel level on race day!!!

this was a great race. they started loosing traction around about 300m down. They still kept their fooot hard into it and pulled a good time. i love this sort of drag racing. im sure i wil love the funny car more though. ken |
