I just updated my firmware as well last night.
I really haven't noticed a big difference, but I haven't shot much either. |

stickied this thread, as it is a firmware update that improves image quality and would be important for those with fz-100's to find

I looked at Pany's instructions for this and it looks fairly straight forward. Any hidden problems that I might encounter?
They don't say so but I'm betting there are more improvements than just the banding issue they speak to,... About the FZ100, I went quail hunting on Tuesday and Wednesday and used the FZ35 on Tuesday. Toward the end of the day, I took out the FZ100 to get some burst shots of one of my little setters. I was really pleased to find that the FZ100 actually handles much better than the FZ35, though a few ounces heavier. Having the shutter button and movie button together is very convenient. The movie button is easy to press with gloves on, unlike the FZ35 thumb button. I found a good procedure for me was to leave the burst mode set at 5fps AF. In that mode you can take only one shot or many shots as you choose. I used the FZ100 all day Wednesday. What a GREAT camera for my purposes. The FZ35 is now in retirement and ready for one of my kids. If this firmware makes any IQ improvements, I may not be able to stand it! Jack |
