Panasonic Bob-- About the speed of the FZ10

Seeing as you are using the camera
Is there any truth to this part of the press release? :?:

Incredibly responsive, the DMC-FZ10 captures consecutive shots nearly as quickly as a motor-driven film camera. As soon as the camera's CCD captures the image signal, Panasonic's multi-tasking Venus Engine LSI simultaneously displays images on the LCD while writing data to the memory card, significantly reducing lag time between shots. To capture sudden events as they unfold, Panasonic's exclusive MEGA BURST recording feature enables consecutive rapid-fire shooting, capturing 4 frames per second with undiminished quality from frame to frame.
Along with the zoom ,the shot to shot time is very important to me.
Thanks Gene

Ignore the marketing blurb, hopefully Bob will post some hard facts soon.

This aspect of the operation is basically the same as our other cameras. Using SD technology we can capture up to 7 images in two seconds. This level of speed is attained using he rapid read / write speeds of SD media. Panasonic's SD media speeds actually increases with the card's size.

There is no published spec, though it's fair to say that it's as good as the FZ1.

2 questions:

1) Just "as good as" or "better"?

2) Where can I find info about the lag and cycle times of the FZ1?

As fast as FZ1 is enough. With FZ1, you can shoot as fast as you can compose your shot. I guess, <1 second with flash (with the battery fully charged).

Writing onto the SD (Panasonic original) also lightning fast, like instant.

But make sure FZ10's indoor low light performance (noise and focusing issues) is improved compare to FZ1.
