Panasonic Bob....help!!

There is a VERY interesting FZ10 "shooting manual" online on a Japanese site. The link is here: http://panasonic.jp/dc/popup/shooting_manual/index.html and was posted on the DPReview forum. Apparently it's much more detailed than the manual provided in the box with the camera. But the entire site is in Japanese. Babelfish does NOT translate Japanese very well. Is there any way you can facilitate getting this in English somewhere? I think this would be very helpful to owners, since it supposedly details how to get certain effects with the camera, etc. Karen

On Line Manual

I don't have it in English, but I do agree that it would be useful. I'm at home enjoying some much needed "time off". Will be back to the office later this week and will ask if an English version exists.

RE: an 'on-line' English manual.

From a digi-tography newbie, - Your inquiry would be appreciated.
Thank you very much.
Happy forthcoming holidays.

Bob,

Did you have a chance to see if we could get this manual in english ?

umenon Dec 31, 2003 1:16 PM

This japanese version is actually very easy to understand ... the pictures and blinking guides make it very easy.

Having said that ... this stuff is prettyelementary. If you did not know what A and S does to a photo ... this is not the camera you need ... stick to a point and shoot.

There is nothing here that a intermediate-level photographer would'nt know.

Did you guys see the 5th slide .. this is the one with a F4.6 and a F8.0 picture (one with the leaf and flower) . The EVF is completely dark and useless. No wonder I kept my 717 for indoor photography.

Actually, the manual is in Flash format so Babelfish cannot translate it at all.

A little off subject - but ->

Did you ever see anything Babelfish COULD translate understandably?

Babelfish, like all current machine translations is imperfect. However, I'd say that it enables me to understand enough of the translated article to make it usable.

What I said is that BF cannot translate Flash files at all.
