I've had my ist-dl for 6 months now (& have had EXCELLENT luck w/ it so far ...may I add:cool:).

Now after surfing, I've become interested in doing some infrared lanscape photography. All that I've looked at thus far has been done w/ Nikons:evil:. I'm thinking that it could be done w/ "night" setting & at least a R72 filter. Could it be done this easy??? Or am I showing my untrained novice stupidity???

If anyone on this wonderful forum would willing to share their experiences, it would be appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't help you with the ist but the Panny FZ1 does a very nice job with the hoya r72 and it is one of the very few non-dslr digicamsthat is senstive enough to infrared for handheld in the 1/20-1/30s range. Most digicams (partucularly the newer ones) have a strong internal ir blocker that essentially precludes their use for ir photography. I don't know about Pentax ist.

Thanks ... I just realized how stupid I actually am:angry:& posted it in the right forum.

Wonderful example though ...thank you so much for posting ... that is exactly what I'm hoping to learn to do .... only with my ist-dl:-)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again,
