My wife is a fountain pen nut and loves to write. She was wanting a new blotter and was looking at this one on E-Bay. Her stepmother was in the hospital (passed away Friday) and she wasn't able to watch it on E-Bay, so I ran interferece for her. Well I managed to pick it up for her for $26.55 including shipping. It also came with the letter holder, and is marble and brass.
Now Fmoore, she took this photo with the FX01 and I think she does better than I. |

Bayou Belle you did a mighty fine job on that photo. You should post more of your photos.

Interesting. I love fountain pens too. I looked on ebay forever for a torquoise parker fountain pen, but it went too high. Ended up buying a Waterman. Tell your wife she has a kindred spirit on this forum. Donna

Thanks for looking and viewing.
P.S. She says to tell you that you can find her on the Fountain Pen Network. http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/ She goes by Judybug on that forum. |

very nice pic.
that ornate blotter would go well with a quill pen. In these days of email and text messaging it's nice to know some folks still do it the old fashion way. |

tinosa, thanks. She has pen pals in Austrailia, India and France, and several states here in the USA. She loves to correspond by snailmail. She also keeps a daily journal.
Fred, I was out in my shop when she came and asked me where her camera was. As you know I had been using it with the TCON 17. I reminded her that it was my camera when I ordered it as she wasn't interested in it then, at least, till it came in. Don, nothing wrong with your monitor. That was a letter written to her mother from a relative. The post mark is indeed 1955. She wanted to emphasize the vintage of the blotter and letter holder, so she thought she would use one of the old letters written to her mother, who was also an avid letter writer. Thanks all for your gracious and kind remarks. Jerry and Judy |
