Hello. I'm trying to decide which, if any of these three photos is worth blowing up to an 11 x 14 size. Any thoughts on which is the best photographically and aesthetically for an enlargement? The first is from Prince William Sound in Alaska and the last two are Yosemite. Thanks!

I think they are all good looking shots.
Just my opinion but I think #2 is the best of the lot, just crop out the little object in the bottom of the frame. Number 3 is a nice shot; I'm just not a fan of having the subject dead center in the frame. Like #1, I just don't know if the small amount of water at the bottom of the frame adds to the shot. Might try to crop some from the bottom of the frame and see how it looks, might add more impact to the Glacier. Again, just my opinion. jj Last edited by jjdog2; Aug 21, 2011 at 12:58 PM. |

All depends on each individual.
For I like all three as well, but no. 1 the sky is not there for me, but the Granit, sooted over, and the glacier with the BLUE. No. 2 needs a tad crop, but feels like its close up, just missing some umph, like a Lake. So No. 3 wins for me has Color in sky, the Wterfall, and a lake. explosive and makes a unbelivable blow up if asked? I go with THREE

For me, it's #3. I love the look of the river, and reflection of the waterfall. #2 is a close second, but 3 isn't bad either. I would go with fishy's advice and order all 3. They may look a lot different when blown up. Many of the on-line photo places can do 11x14 pretty cheap.

No. 3 is a good shot, but for some reason No. 2 ( to me) seems to have better balance. Just a little crop at the bottom as mentioned. All great shots though, tough choice, well done.

Really like No.1, but No.3 is the winner for me.

Hey folks. I decided to print a horizontal variant of the glacier shot in a smaller 8 x 10 and it looks great where I put it on the wall. Leaning slightly towards # 2 but still undecided. I'm going to Colorado in a few weeks and will wait to decide on which Yosemite print until I get back, maybe Colorado will offer me another choice for a large vertical. Thanks for the feedback.
