I need to pick up a polarized filter for my FZ18. I read that there are circular and linear. I dont know what the difference is. Which one would be good for my camera. I believe the camera takes a 46mm mount?

Genece,
Thank you. Could you help me again? In researching the polarizing filters, i have found that there are different kinds. Warm, multi coated and skylight is what i have come across so far. Any comments on these? Are there ones i should stay away from? |

It is a matter of preference .....I would choose a multi coated one as that helps eliminate lens flare.........the sky light and warming filters add a red or brown cast to things.....not much for the skylight but more for the warming filter.
I just looked and the MC polarizers are really expensive .......I am not sure they are worth the price.......just get a plain linear polarizer......20 bucks or so. I have an MC polarizer that I am sure I got for less that 40 bucks . I think I would choose something along this line and I doubt you will ever notice a difference http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...ing_Glass.html |
