Last Xmas was snowy ^^
First will be the original picture and then the cropped one. Wondering if the crop was correct or if you would done it differently. Comment please. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() No crop of the next one, just wanted to share it, got a lot of good comment on it yesterday from friends ![]()

I think with the first one cropping loses quite a lot of the sense of place, & I personally find the pole & wires new prominence distracting. In the original you have those nice trees in the top left of the picture & my eye seems to go down the track & round the back of them.
The third one is good - gets rid of some distracting background & displays the icy plant much better.

I agree with brownie - really like the first 2 uncropped. #2 is particularly nice.
And love the kitty shots!! Love her white socks. |

Overall, the cropping is fine excepting photo #1. In photo #1 the cropping actually detracts from the photo itself. Cropping should add or enhance the original photo. The kitty is fun and special.

Shot 1: Un-cropped is better than cropped. Having said that, this is the least interesting of all the shots, so neither version works particularly well.
Shot 2: Un-cropped is much more effective. It's a very striking image. Shot 3: crop works well - I might suggest cloning out the plant in the bottom right portion though. shot 4: Shot is more effective cropped, but don't crop so much off the bottom of the frame - the shot will be more effective with ball up a little higher in the frame. A little more than you actually have room in the original would be better, but given the framing of the original you want to leave as much room on the bottom as possible. |

Photo 1 - I like this shot uncropped, but I don't know why.
Photo 2 - I like both, my only CC, is the cropping has taken the end of the building off and has cut the tree in half, but I think it has potential to be the better photo. Photo 3 - The cropped photo uses 'the rule of thirds' which I think helps the shot a little. The kitten shot is great. May have been better if the ball was in the middle of the shot? I don't know. Either way it's a good fun shot. The last shot is awesome. The background is a little distracting, but I love it, makes me laugh. Great post, hope I've helped ![]()
