Very nice photo, excellent framing too. Don't mistake me for thisquestion, any idea why it is named purple finch? (I don't see any purple in this photo).

We do get some of the finches here about 20 miles southwest of Baton Rouge. Each year we get house finches, goldfinches, titmouse, and chick-a-dees. We may have gotten the purple finch and thought it was the house finch. But in 2003, we had a bird come to the feeders we had never seen before. I will add a few photos of it I took with my Olympus C700. I hope to see it again to try to get closer with the FZ-30.
