Timewarp, thanks for the link, don't know how you found it so quick. Also, as I said it was a first for me, in this part of Louisiana. I had no idea it range came this far south.

It's definitely a Rose-breasted Grosbeak and one beautiful bird. Yours was probably one that was migrating through, rather than a permanent resident. They spend theirSummers in southern Canada and northern USA and Winter in South America. We have them here in Central Alabama when they're migrating in the Spring and Fall. Watch and you'll probably see them again.
