All shots cropped, and sharpened some. These were taken on a very cloudy day with very slow shutter speeds.

update: now I can see the whole bunch /

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"the third one is the sharpest of the group, IMO, but not the best / I stillprefer the first one.

Looks like a real nice match for the fz20.Good detail. How much were these cropped? What adapter are you using? I see you're in Bucks County. There are a few of us in the Philly area. I live in NE Philly - Holmesburg. How about you?

Hi Fred,

These were cropped down to 1800 x 1350 and I am using the Raynox 5264P adapter. Considering how cloudy it was here yesterday, I was especially pleased with the results. You can zoom down to about 5X before vignetting starts showing up which gives a nice shooting range for birds.

I am from Bucks County, about 30 miles North of the city.

Under theadverse shooting conditions, your pictures are very good. Although you can zoom down to 5X, these pictures will be under magnified and will be inferior to the ones produced by the Leica at 260mm. I do not know if you are aware of this but for optimum usage the Raynox 1540PRO, should be used between 7.8X and 12X. This is determined by using, the Effect zoom range formula:

(FZ mm max zoom) / TC magnification / FZ mm minimum zoom = minimum effective range
420/1.54/35=7.79X. When I use my tele-extender, I set theFZ's conversion option to telephoto, which sets the useable zoom range of the FZ from 6x-12x. This saves critical power on time because the FZ starts at 6X when the camera is turned on.

Thanks for the tip.The ability to zoom down isa nice feature for when you are shooting birdsand you don't want tobe forced to take the lens off every time one gets too close to focus in the optimum range you specified. I foud that very annoying with my 2.2 extender. When I'm shooting birds with this lens I might find the need to zoom down below the max area of zoom you specified one out of ten shots.
