I have a FZ30 and I am looking at purchasing a teleconverter for wildlife/bird photography, does anyone have the Raynox DCR-2020? I have read a couple of remarks on here which point to a resolution issue with it and I should go for a lower magnification, like the TCON17 or even the lower Raynox 1.5?

Would appreciated any advice.

Many thanks

I have the 2020 pro and while it works better on the FZ30 than it did on the FZ20 (only vignettes to 6X) I still do not think its great ..But thats only my opinion.

I think the TCon 17 works very well on the FZ30.

Here are some 2020 photos on the FZ30 photos #28 to 35 or so are 2020 photos as are some others.

And here are some Tcon17 shots

Many thanks for the reply, I must admit the TCON17 shots do look sharper, although on the 2020 page there are some labelled TCON17 which also do not appear as sharp? Maybe the light conditions?

Probably silly questions, as I am a bit of a newbie, but what is the 14B? And you list some pictures as 3Ext is that X 3 Optical zoom?

Am I right in assuming that the TCON17 is also cheaper than the 2020? Are there others with better quality, for around the same price?

<edit> Would it be possible to use the TCON-30c with the FZ30?

Once again, many thanks for your time.
