I would go for at least a 1 Gig card, and reasonably fast too. Extended warranty is a ? mark but if it's offered at a reasonable price personally, I'd choose it. I was lucky enough to get a 3 yr one free as a promo for a new credit card which I used, and then promptly paid off, to avoid the interest. In electronics if something is going to fail it usually does so in the first 90 days or less, and if not then goes a long time before the chart again heads into the higher fail region. (called a bathub curve) Occasionally new products have a % of defective products, and the ext warr might help there too. Past exp usually leads us to expect price cuts after Xmas, but with this product being relatively new, I wouldn't hold my breath. Good luck, hope someone out there can help with the other ?'s....
