the bigger they are the worse they are ..you can not keep the dot in the center.
My opinion the little daisy sight is the best. But I would go no bigger than the BSA 35 I have a 50mm one that is in the junk drawer. ![]() I really like this one better simple - light and accurate ![]() |

Gene, you don't need to keep the dot in the center. if the sight is properly aligned with the lens axis, and you keepthe dotover the target, your subject will be framed properly, even if you're looking through the sight a bit crooked and the dot looks off center. that's because the dot doesn't move within the sight. it is projected on a reflecting plane inside the sight optics, and can only be moved by adjusting the windage or elevation knobs. once set, it stays "zeroed" and will remain "on target" even if you look at it a bit off-center.

perhaps because the design of the smaller one forces you to look into in more "straight-on", so you pick up the dot faster... but hey, whatever works! my son made me a mount for Christmas, using an old flash adapter and the mounting rail from an air rifle; now all i gotta do is get me another red-dot sight!

EXactly squirl but do yourself a favor and do not go that big one like I did....
I know lots like the BSA35 but I know at least one of the first users returning to the daisy sight. ( besides me) |

Gene, if i do get one, it'll probably be like this... small, lightweight, and easy to see, and i really like the open-frame design.

Squirl thats seems fine ..do you know if it has a mark in the center of the screen to align the dot.
I really like that feature. As I said I really like the daisy and crossman models that Walmart sells. They are cheap and very easy to use. |

i've never seen a red-dot sight with a mark on the screen to align the dot, because they're designed to work even if the dot isn't centered. the eye tends to naturally "center" the dot anyway, so there really is no need for such a mark, and personally, i'd find a mark to be a huge distraction, considering the original purpose for which these sights are made.
