Have had problems on three occassions in that I couldn't log in.
Each time I have had to re-register under a different User Name/Password. The problem has been that I did housekeeping using Ashampoo Optimiser - this has apparantly wiped out the cookies or something that enables me to communicate with the Forum. Am now Bootneck2 instead of Bootneck. |

To update. I have been in contact with Steve who confirms that Optimiser type programs can and do cause this type of program. Guess what is next?
Yes, the Uninstaller program and then re-install Ad-Aware which I initially blamed for the problem |

Adaware is one of the best antispyware about and normally only ever removes cookies that may be spyware - I've been using it for over 2 years and never have had a problem accessing any forum. HarjTT :? |

ditto on Ad-Aware. The same for Spybot, Trend Micro Anti Spyware, and Microsoft Anti Spyware beta, all three which I use daily as I do Ad Awareand all three free.

Thanks to everyone for help. I have now unistalled Ashampoo Optimiser andreistalled Ad-Aware.
To test, I did a full scan with Ad-Aware with the result that I hadfourCriticals indicated. These were cookies therefore I assumed they were the Forum ones. Next step was to put those four in the ignore file. Everything works well which certainly does indicate that Optimiser was the problem. |
