Replacement to FZ35 & FZ38

Are there any rumours / news of the likelihood of Panasonic releasing a new version of the FZ35 or FZ38 this year ?

I'm on the verge of buying an FZ38 but would like to know if there is something coming imminently (ie next 6 mths or so) or not.

Cheers !

I doubt anyone outside of Panasonic knows for sure. If there is a successor, I expect it to include at least one of the following in this thread:

There have been rumors that Panasonic is going to make some announcements about new point and shoot cameras later this week. You might want to wait to see if they pan out and, if so, if there is any news about the FZ successor.

See this thread http://forums.steves-digicams.com/pa...ouncement.html

Larry-

There are further rumors about the original rumor. This week's announcement is supposed to be the Panasonic FX-75. But at the outset everything is nothing but a guess.

Have look at this. I suspect much of what is new on this camera might make it to the FZ45/8:

We're now into July. Anybody have any new info/rumors relative to the FZ35 successor??

Panasonic has a long record of being much better than any other camera manufacturer in controlling pre-release rumors and information. Last year the announcement of the FZ-35/38 was totally unexpected when it was made in mid August 2009.

I would venture the guess that it will be quite the same this year as well. And in addition, this year Sony, will also be possibly replacing their super zoom camera, the HX-1 model. The possibility of a CMOS imager is high when you consider the HX-1 and the Fuji HS-10.
