Would welcome any comments people have on whether these look clear enough etc. Mostly trying out zoom and macro (failing miserably at the latter - I need to read up more on it as I struggled to get it to focus). I'm still debating whether to switch to the FZ38, as its slightly lighter and people say its more beginner friendly - I hadn't really appreciated what a big jump up from a basic compact these are! I also find it difficult the tell using the EVF whether something is in focus or not, even though I've set it ok - the playback often seems to look out of focus but the photo on the computer is fine.

7) Not the best composition, but was just so pleased to have got the wretched thing after it spent ages zooming away just as I clicked!

Those are great shots! And to shoot a flying dragonfly - I'm still trying!

Sometimes you include too much in the photo, as in #1 and #5. In #7 it is understandable. Photo #6 is a bit over exposed. A bit of Exposure Compensation would have solved that problem.

All are sharp and fairly detailed.

Thanks for the feedback I'm not quite sure what you mean though - could you explain a bit more? Do you mean I should have zoomed in a bit more?

In photos #1 and #5 you could have zoomed in more closely on the main subject. In photo#6 there is too much light, you could have used Exposure Compensation to darken the photo, thus making in more complimentary to your wife or girl friend.

Ah I see, thanks. Yeah, on #5 unfortunately that was full zoom on the 24, but I guess I could try cropping it? I'll remember on #6 next time to change it - didn't really think about the lighting issue as it was on IA, but given where the sun was can't really blame the camera! The picture is of my mother
