One of many left over wagon wheels around the southwest ! Can't imagine what it must have been like to cross this country in a wagon with wheel like this. The good side is they didn't have to worry about a blowout! Jim

nice shot, Tiger! i love pics of old abandoned wagons, barns, tractors, etc... this one reminds me of a pic i shot years ago in Idaho, of an old buckboard sitting out back of a tourist trap between Shoshone and Twin Falls... this weathered old wagon, rusty rims and all, in dry prairie grass almost knee tall, with an old barbed wire fence stretching off toward the horizon... gave a sense of total abandonment and desolation. i got an 8x10 of that print made, but Lord only knows where it is now! guess i'll have to go back to Idaho and see if that wagon is still there! :?

Terrific shot. The contrast of the blue sky and soft clouds as a background to what was left of the wagon really tells a story. "Mule Train..."

Great photo....and I often wonder the same thing ..I think the first time I thought that I was at the Badlands and looking out over the plains ,I could not help but wonder how did they get over this? or imagine when they saw the Grand Canyon.

amazing shot..
..and it is still standig upright, though not working any longer. I just needed such a shot after the regular inspection of my digital controlled car, the costs of this adventure came close to that of an accident. For the same price I could have bought a second FZ5! There will not be such nice relicts of this vehicle in 80 years or more! thanks Jim |
