Samburu National Reserve Day 1
 

It was yet another long weekend here in Kenya, so we planned on taking the kids away to Samburu, up in the Northern Frontier!

A long ride of 5.5 hours saw us passing the Equator, past Mount Kenya and descended into Isiolo town, the last outpost.

From there we went to Archer's Post, and into Samburu.

Straight to the lodge, and a game drive where we hoped and prayed to spot Leopard, the most elusive of cats. Our luck was good!!

We also came across a lonely elephant that charged our car, the driver had to reverse out of there quick smart.

That big cat is absolutely awesome - I love it!

Thanks Mick...that big cat is so rare in the wild we were very lucky to catch it!

The last time I saw a wild leopard was in 1993 in Tanzania.

Thanks everyone...that leopard was high up in a tree...I wasn't even sure I'd get a decent shot.

He looks a little bored of being spotted, doesn't he?

Excellent shots of the reserve, the leopard is just that bit more special
