These were shot last Sundaynear Punta Campanella, the edge of the first peninsula (Sorrento) south of Napoli, S. Italy.
Few miles from the place of the last excursion, 2 weeks ago. The famous spurs of Capri (Faraglioni) are visible in some shots. A few here on the Thread, more at this link http://iciclelanding.com/aperture?al...amp;view=album These are about a half of the total34 photos in the gallery at the link above I hope you like them Francesco (Narmer) http://digilander.libero.it/peribsen/indice.htm |

All nice pictures. I especially like #2 with the red sweater and shoes to add perspective an a splash of color.

Gorgeous. I checked out your gallery. You got a great eye for framing, lighting and composition. I miss Italy, man. Maybe next year.

Hi Francesco,
the pano and #6 B&W are my favourite ones. This is a link to ancient times, I stayed at Solfatara many years ago and visited Capri lateron. Thanks for sharing!! Sven p.s. I have processed your "castle" - dpreview. There is no good b&w version, but the coloured version can be enhanced with some photoshop actions! |

Thanks to all of you.
Actually it took me more than 1 full day post processing the images shot last Sunday !!! More than 300 only a few to erase. I also made very high resolution panoramas, even better than the one posted here (which is actually a fusion of 2 distinct panos, for a total of 10 pics; that's why it has a step in height on the right side of the image). The excursion before the present one was even greater images-wise, and I also had to spend more than 10 hours PP nearly all of +350 pics. http://iciclelanding.com/aperture?al...amp;view=album Really I have to try to go more for quality than quantity , but these places are so nice... and as I have said in the dprev post Sven was hinting at, FZ pics need much PP to be iimproved http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=16165386 No PP PP: Narmer |

PS
another annoying thing with my FZ20, which forces me to additional PP, is the fact that even using the grid I only rarely get perfectly horizontal shots. On screen I can detect a 0,2 deg error in the alignement of the horizon, on the LCD I am nearly unable, after almost aone year of use, to get horizontal pics when the skyliine is in the frame (sometimes got wrong up to 3-4 deg!!!). Never had problems with other digicams |

Hi Francesco,
you talked about pp and oversaturation. After living with a canon camera for 2 years, it is not so easy to get used to normal colours again. But oversaturation might help with B&W processing. This is an example of your castle, running through a process simulating former b&w development: increased red sensitivity (channel selection), s-shape grade curve, selective sharpening with small and very large circles (following some guidelines published by a german magazine: c't). The picture in the middle is the last step before the colour is reduced to grey scale. This example helps me, not to shoot in b&w mode with the camera. I need this selective colour process lateron! What do you think about this? Sven ![]() |
