the sun came out this afternoon, so i took my FZ20 out looking for something to shoot. on a lark, i stopped by a local park at the lake, and was fortunate to find these shots waiting for me. the light was going fast, though, and trying to get enough shutter speed to freeze birds in flight at sundown is pretty tough for the FZ's...

Nice shots, Squirrel. I like #3. Real nice color in the wings.

These are all wonderful - I especially like #3. I also like the first one because of the reflection.

Squirl these FZ20 pics are OUTSTANDING stuff.
Really all at the same level for me. If in the 3rd one the main subject had been the only bird in the picture and its reflection in the water had been full, thatwould have been my favourite one. Really very good and not easy to do in that light condition Narmer PS to be exaggerate I d add that maybe NR has deleted too much detail in the grey portion of the wing of the 1st pic seagull |

yeah, the NR got a little more aggressive than i would've liked. i may play with it a bit, turn it down some and see if i can preserve a bit more of the feather detail... not that there's a lot there to begin with. it's amazing how smoothly these birds can fold their wings into their bodies so it looks almost like one continuous surface... thanks to all for the kind comments. |
