All of these were taken under my porch light with FZ 15 and
backwards binocular lense. I know the DOF is shallow but this technique still produces some great shots. Can you see the alien on the back of this mosquito hawks head? ![]() Check this guy out, he finally got some supper! When zoomed in you can see the mosquito legs hanging out of its mouth. ![]() This was some kind of moth on my door screen ![]() This little guy was no bigger than a penny. ![]() And one more ![]() Taken with FZ 15 and backwards binocular lense. Thanks for looking. Comments welcome. |

Thanks for the comments guys. I dont actually mount the lense
I just reverse the lense which is rubber coated and hold it up directly to my pana. I focus just by getting my distance correct in and out. Vingeting is very bad until you get above 5 zoom. Once above 5 power vingeting goes away and Im able to focus all the way through the full zoom range. As you can see the DOF is extremely shallow but the area you can focus looks good and is crazy magnified. I shoot in aperature priority and turn the lense to manual focus which allows me to focus by distance. I realized that shooting bugs under your porch light is a great place. They dont even move ! Heres a couple I shot tonight. Thanks for looking ![]() and one more ![]() |
