There was a dead bushy tree at the end of a pond, and it seemed like a hundred dragonflies were using twig tips as roosts. I was standing trying to get shots of species I did not recognize when this pair of dragonflies landed for like five seconds. I got one shot. It is rather strange. Either dragonfly sex, or, I captured a Green Darner eating one of it's smaller relatives. I lean towards the latter but thought I would post for opinions. I make no claims that this is a great photograph, but it is interesting.

1. The shot

2. Cropped quite tight

Nice shots Steve. Looks as though its eating a smaller damselfly by the shape of the prey`s thorax, and is currently munching on some of the tail segments. When dragonflies mate, it`s head to tail....the 2 dragonflies forming a "heart" shape if you looked at a coupled pair side on. Good timing to happen upon such an occurence

Steve, Good thing I already had dinner, otherwise this terrific capture would have made me skip it. Very interesting shot.
