this is one of those pics that has absolutely no real reason for being, except that i liked the color the setting sun cast on this rock, and the shape of the whole thing somewhat reminded me of the Rock of Gibraltar... :roll:but then, that's what photography is all about, isn't it... light in all its permutations and variations? :?

Yes it is an interesting shot. As soon as I saw it I flashed to a memory of sitting by some rocks and fishing off the jetty. I really enjoyed doing that but never seem to have (or take) the time anymore.

Agreed. I do like the colors. I think (my personal opinion here) is that it would have been a little better with a small amout of motion blur in the water. That would really have made the rock stand out more and give it a certain feeling.

yeah, i agree, but it was taken at a lake, not a river, so the waves you see are all you get... no current to provide the blur. :(
