SX30IS and FZ40

Here are a few shots comparing zoom with the Canon SX30IS and the FZ40.

I've only had the Canon for a few hours. I can tell I'm used to the FZ's.
Each camera was set on ISO 80, P mode, on a tripod.

I gotta say, the FZ40 pics look much better, even if the zoom is not as big as the Canon.

I agree with ESCOZ too, but we'll let Clint "practice" a bit more .

I also just noticed that there's a cute little bird at your bird house/feeder in the first pic.

That's my first impression also. I just found the contrast-saturation equivalents in the Canon. I didn't see any way to adjust noise reduction in camera yet.

I noticed him too. A tufted titmouse
I flipped up the flash on the Canon and got him.

thats a nice looking close up shot of the bird...on the other shots the fz40 colors are more vivid

I just remembered I have the FZ40 on +1 Saturation.
I need to set the Canon to the same.
I'll post a few more tomorrow.

Cute bird. We had an Oak Titmouse who roosted in our nest box for a few months last spring. I'm hoping he comes back this spring.

maybe factory default shots from both would be a nice comparisons method also.

Nice work, Clint-

I really would like to see both cameras with the Saturation boosted up one notch, as that would be more real life shooting. Thanks very much for taking the time to get these samples.
