Hi squirl,
it is a pity to see some of our best members disappear into the slr universe. I have decided to stay some time with my minature camera. Limitations help me to improve my skills.... Just a comparison ;-) this is a shot with my FZ5 one hour ago: ![]() -FZ5, iso 80, 8x zoom, f:3.3 t1/100, selfmade 10x tele converter, ...12x zoom would have cut the moon into pieces... Sven |

Squirl033, that is nice and sharp moon.
Sven, to capture moon with FZ5 + selfmade teleconverter, that's genius. Very clear shots. Just wondering how the selfmade tcon looks? ![]() |

Looks like you are the one who dissapeared into the universe and took the moon photo on your way past!!! Top quality! Regards, Freewood. Don't forget your flash onthe dark side:lol::|

Wow, quite a toy box you got there, Sven. You are sure bringing out the best in your FZ5...

meanwhile, that's a super moon shot! a home-made 10x converter, huh? i gotta say, your ingenuity is paying serious dividends! the pic seems a tad dim, - is that 'cuz your flash won't reach that far? i'm waiting for you to make a long-range flash out of a pocket flashlight, a parabolic mirror, and a fresnel lens! more likely, though, it's just light loss through the converter... long lenses are never as bright... |

In the meanwhile mix some SLR and FZ shots. It is an honour to have such a member in this forum. I liked the details of the dim picture more than others, just look at it at night. This is a shot with the onboard flash of the FZ5 - degraded quality and blown highlights! I should use bouncing with my moon macros! ![]() regards Sven |

Hehehe... this is my moon shot using FZ7.
I guess is nothing compare to Sven  F4, 1/100 sec, handheld, using 12x + 4.5x extra optical zoom, 100% cropped. |
