ALL, many thanks for your nice comments!!
Annie, the lens is an achromactic close-up lens from Soligor: https://secure.soligor.com/index.php...ts=298&L=1 However, I don't think it'savailable in America but its power, +3 diopters, can be found with several others and should be just rightfor handheld macros. |

thanks for the information Peha. I am waiting for a Raynox Lens I have ordered locally so I am hoping to give it a try. I am starting with the 150 and see how that goes...Our options in Canada are much less than those from the US!!!!

Never knew thistle to be so pretty. All the thistle we have normally have a white fuzzy like top. Some people eat young thistle here much like celery.

Man PeHa, those are some crystal clear photos. Very nice!
I especially like that blue butterfly. I tried to photograph a giant swallowtail this afternoon, but no luck. They never seem to land and fly about very erratically. Maybe I need to grow some thistle! Jerry - we used to eat thistle as kids because we thought it was neat. Tried it once as an adult and recall it was like eating rope. Mmmmm... rope! |

The blue butterfly (3rd picture) is stunning! I kept scrolling back to admire it again.
Every one is really excellent, but that blue butterfly is a real "wow" shot. Great work Angie I. |

Many, many thanks for your encouraging comments!!
And I didn't know thistles could be eaten! If it tastes like rope it must be with a flavor of barbed wire. It'll be something to try,but next summer... :-) |
