Hummers are a new world bird, not found anywhere but the American continents. I have tried capturing their in flight wingbeat - tricky, requiring an adjustable external flash (posted here a few months ago). Your one shot of the wings spread is great, that is the slowest point in their wing beat. The beat at about 750/sec.

Pschooley1, Thanks for the info on the hummingbirds, I wasn't aware of any of it! As to the shot of the wing spread, I'd like to say I planned it that way, but was just lucky! I have been trying for a long time to get that shot! Now I have to try to get a better one! Jim
