Roger, that baby seem to know you were around. Do you that RDS mounted when you are in the field. My new one should be in a few days. Great shots. What tele are you using and are those handheld shots? If handheld, you are much more steady than I am.

Jerry I believe they knew something was going on but they never figured out what and where I was at. I was in a bunch of thick bushes on a little ridge. I believe my cameo helped keep me hidden. They probably heard the camera. I am using the Nikon TCE17 Teleconverter. I was using a limb to rest on. This time of the year and especially this year it is very dry and hot for us so the elk are trying to find a place to cool off. These were down by the river in the thick trees trying to get cooler. They will use the water from the river or ponds to help them get the bugs around the river off of them. Here is a cow getting into the water. She at one poing was under water except for her head. ![]() Since I got my RDS I have never taken it off. roger (The Old Newbie) |

Thanks Roger. I did wonder how you could get so close and not be noticed. Also, must have been a very substantial limb. In any case, I do enjoy seeing your photos. My wife owns a couple of lots in New Mexico. A place called Rio Rancho. We know they are in dessert, but hope to visit them in near future. Thanks again for your response.

That is a nice series Roger.
I cannot understand why people would shoot them with anything other than a camera...but then it is more difficult to use a camera. A bit like our "friends" with so called scientific whale killing Fred |

Great shots! I love seeing pictures of baby animals - I wish I had some to watch around here.
