These were the first blooms in my garden this year, pushing up through a couple of inches of snow.

I've been expermenting, lighting flowers with three diffused desk lamps and a black foam board.
This is my best shot so far. What do ya think ?

I tried a similar thing a while back using side lighting from a ring flash detached from the camera. Nice soft effect there tinosa, i like it.

Beautiful. Sometimes we forget that not every shot needs to be sharp and bright. This softer lighting really works well to evoke a mood.

Thanks Mark and Rafinbelb for taking the time to view and comment. Glad you like the effect. I'm discovering that some table top lighting is a good way to keep shootin' on the rainy days or when you don't feel like getting out of your pajamas.
