I recently purchased a DMC-LZ3, and I found that if I had the flash turned off in a low light situation, I could only take extremely underexposed pictures. While framing, the LCD and histogram showed a fairly well balanced shot, but the actual picture after clicking the shutter is extremely dim, and the histogram would shift to the left during the review. I returned the camera and bought a LZ5 because I like everything about the camera except the exposure problem, thinking that it was just that camera that was a dud, but the LZ5 exhibits the same problem. Am I doing something wrong or are these cameras just extremely terrible for shooting without flash in all but the best lighting conditions? Cranking the EV to +2 does nothing to help.

I drew a picture to show you what i see before clicking the shutter and after during the review.
