Unusual?? I think. A Muskrat
I have been told by a lot of people that they have never seen a Muskrat in the wild. Ok here is a Muskrat in the wild. Not the best photo but seeing one of these much less getting a photo does not happen often. Large Photo P Mode Everything Else Auto Insert Nikon TCE17 QuikAim Max RDS (I find this a very valuable tool that I use a lot. It is not just for BIF'S) P Mode Manual Focus Everything Else Auto ![]() TOTALLY WACKY roger FZ 30, Nikon TCE17, QuikAim Max RDS, Zeiss Digiscope/Sony W7 |

HarjTT
I was using my binoculars and found him in the water & weeds just to the right of the big tree. Almost everyone I have seen is in weeds or etc. but not in the open water. I am not sure why but he decided to cross the pond to weeds on my side he went along the edge to my right then across some open water. The only other one I caught in open water was in a rain storm. ![]() I find 80% of the wildlife using my binoculars. Many times I find them with the binoculars but can't get close enough to get a photo. Thanks for looking and commenting. The Muskrat was definitely a bonus but just be there in that peaceful scene and get to photograph it would be wonderful.

tcook in my opinion you NAILED it. Being able to be in the woods makes it a great day and if you get a photo its a bonus.

How do you do it?
If I see your pics I always ask myself one question: Why the heck am I hanging around citys and machines that make me cough, instead of being out and getting my thoughts back to the important things in life. But maybe I can manage to squeeze in more quality time from now on. And envy you less for your shots and being out and about;-) Cheers, RealMash |

YUP I was at a friends ranch. This is one of 3 ponds he has. There was about 8 horses at the other pond but nothing in the water. He has a beautiful ranch that butts up to the national forest. I cross his place a lot of the time when I am headed to the hight country. Just past the horse is a county road but it doesn't go much farther before it ends.

RealMash please don't get mad I don't mean any disrespect. I will bet if you go in the bathroom and lock the door and then look in the mirror you WILL NOT see any chain around your neck that is keeping you in the city with the machines that make you cough.
A Old Guys Advice (me). When you brush your teeth and look in the mirror you have to like the person and what that person is doing or you are doing it all wrong. Off my soapbox now. Thanks for looking and commenting. TOTALLY WACKY roger FZ 30, Nikon TCE17, QuikAim Max RDS, Zeiss Digiscope/Sony W7 RealMash wrote: Quote:
