Here are a few Orb spiders around our place. It is getting cold and there isn't much out at night to explore.

Nice pictures. I hope those aren't poisonious 'cause it looks like you have a lot of them. What camera are you uesing and are you using add-on macro lenses?

Thanks! We had alot of these this year...I don't know why. They do pack a bite but are not harmful as far as I know. I was bitten by a baby one and it hurt pretty good so I would hate to get get bitten by an adult.
Sorry about not giving specifics. I have an FZ5 and used the Raynox 150. At night I generally try to use a flashlight to focus things and have a little homemade softbox over my built in flash. I need to make a better one. My settings are f/8 - 1/250 ( I think for all of them). I often use a higher shutter speed depending on if there is a breeze and hence slight movement. Scary but wonderful! Thanks for giving me a close up view of a subject I generally don't get too close to. Donna

something about baby spiders makes me gag...probably that story about the lady that licked the stamp with spider eggs then had her tounge bust open with baby spiders

Great macros. However, I will gladly let you keep your spiders, as I have enough of my own. My barn is only two years old and they are taking it over. Seems like they are everywhere. Someday I will get as good as you on these macros, when I find a way to steady myself fast enough before they are gone.
