May as well post some more images 8) I had a good day so will show this rareevent.
Click the pics for much bigger detailed images and dont have nightmares! View these images in order for full, brutal and disturbing effect! War between two species. A Lone Fly and an Angry Wasp. What follows is the progression of a fight to the death, two shall enter and only one shall leave alive! (with the rear end of the looser!) Here are the details. I was taking pictures and something fly past my face, it was big and noisy like a helicopter. I followed it as it struck the floor, as I got closer I noticed it was a large fly and a Wasp embraced. I got closer still and whipped out my camera and started taking as many pictures as I could, but the more I watched and the closer I got with my camera the more disturbing it all became! These images were took quickly, and it was hard to keep up with the action as they were fighting for about 10 minutes and moving all over the place as the fly kept trying to fly away, while the Wasp was held firm around its body, even when it was totally decimated. So forgive any blur and movement and lack of perfection. Image 1)The fly is taken down hard as them crash into the floor and start to rumble. Image 2)The Wasp stars to clip the legs off the fly! My good holy god! Image 3)After most the legs have been bitten off the Wasp starts with a wing! Image 4)Then it starts on the head of the fly, blinding the bugger. Notice the little legs scattered around the battlefield. Image 5)Slowly the Wasp moves to the fly's body. Image 6)Holy Moley!!!!!!! The Wasp stars to bite at the fly's mid section, quickly and over and over again in a flurry of action. Image 7)No Way! Yes Way, indeed the Wasp has bitten clean thru the fly's full body and with the help of its feet, ripped apart the fly into two separate parts. Now that's what I call power. All the while the fly is still twitching away, as its obviously still kind of alive, but no matter the Wasp flies away with the lower half of the fly's body. Image8 )Pretty obvious what's going on here, the fly isn't exactly well anymore. Image 9) The End. The fly twitches a little more with its stubs and one wing and dies. You don't see that every day. wow! that's quite a series... incredible images, very well captured! i don't think i've ever seen anything like that... the wasp literally cut the fly in half!
once, when i was much younger (and somewhat foolish, perhaps...), i caught a black widow spider in a jar... decided to put a wasp in with it to see who'd win. it took a couple of days of stalking and chasing around the sticks and twigs in the jar, but once the battle was joined, it was no contest. the widow trapped the wasp with one incredible leap and a strand of web to bind its wings, then bit it at leisure, and let the venom do the rest... sadly, i had no camera at all at that point to record the chase and the wasp's untimely end... |
