My favorite Big cats - the tigers. All were taken behind glass - really wish i had the polariser with me. personally, I think the zoo needs to be knocked down and redesigned and then enlarged. You could tell from the Big cat esp that they were not happy at all - esp the leapords which kept on pacing up and down and then left to right even under heavy rain. What they need to do is enlarge the zoo so that it covers at least 30-50% of Regents park and give the animals the space they really need - currenty the zoo takes up just 10-15% of the park - theres more space for football and rugby players! I've seen it done in Thailand, where the cats are in large wide open spaces although behind 20ft fences but with pathways through them so visitors can see the animals.

Pic 14. Aaahh looks theres two puddy cats!
I did take some leopard and Lion shots but the bad weather and low light spoiled those. Plus the WB on them was completely out as well. |

Cheers Tiger
Jim, YYessss that one No13 does look like you. Cheers John Couldn't have taken the tiger shots without the 12X - first time I've had to use the zoom at full x12 for more than one pict. Handy tip for anyone shooting behind glass - I put the FZ lens as close as you can to the glass - it also helps to reduce cam shake upt a point, If it had been a really nice clear day then a polariser would have made the pictures hopefully better in terms of elimating all of the reflections of the glass. The close ups were a little easier as I was just a few feet away from the puddy cat from that side. HarjTT :G :? |
