When do Hummers change to Yellow Birds
The answer is: August 1, 2006 around 7PM MDT I found some hummingbirds on the top part of a tree that was dead so I figured this would be a good opportunity. Me and my small goodie bag settled into the thick part of a bush close to the tree. Now it was wait for the right opportunity Two at a time in the dead part of the tree. ![]() Pretty hummer all by himself. ![]() I reached in my bag and got my sun shade thinking to myself - hummers get ready I am going to get 3 or more of you at a time. When I looked back they had changed into. ![]() Another view ![]() One of two things happened???? 1. The hummers changed into a rocky mountain yellow bird 2. When he arrived the hummers left. More nice shots Roger! This is getting to be a habbit. What kind of Hummers are the two in the top of the tree. We don't have any like that around where I live.

Hi Don,
I really don't know anything about hummingbirds but a friend said the orange colored one of the two was a Rufus. I think the single one is the same. The one above the ??Rufus?? a pretty hummingbird is my guess. As far as the yellow ones: A lot bigger than a hummingbird Rocky Mountain Yellow bird is my guess. Thanks Fred,
I think it is called a Rufus. I agree he or she is a good looking bird. TOTALLY WACKY roger FZ 30, Nikon TCE17, QuikAim Max RDS, Zeiss Digiscope/Sony W7 Bootneck3 wrote: Quote:

Roger, the war may be over, but you sure are doing a heck of a nice job. Should be totally back up and running soon. Lightning got all of it, computer, modem, router and two telephones, that we know of so far.
Great job on the hummers. Keep up the good work and I just love your tidbits on each series. |
